As Belgian country representative for IAREP, I want to welcome you on this site. IAREP ("International Association for Research in Economic Psychology") was founded in 1982 to stimulate international research in "Economic Psychology". Although it is a rather young discipline, there are many Belgian researchers involved. Some of them in a very conscious way, others rather unconscious as IAREP is not only an organisation that addresses itself towards economic psychologists, but also towards social and experimental psychologists, economists and marketeers. They all gather once a year on an international conference to exchange knowledge, and also to meet old friends and to welcome new faces in exciting cities as Vienna, Prague and Paris...

It has been six years since I first learned about IAREP and now it's my mission to let you discover IAREP. The "Journal of Economic Psychology" contains a range of topics which are relevant for many researchers. Als landsvertegenwoordiger voor IAREP in België, wil ik jullie graag van harte welkom heten op deze site. IAREP ("International Association for Research in Economic Psychology") werd opgericht in 1982 met als belangrijkste doelstelling het onderzoek in de "Economische Psychologie" internationaal te stimuleren. Hoewel het om een jonge discipline gaat, zijn er in België toch reeds een aantal onderzoekers in actief; sommigen heel bewust, anderen ook wel onbewust. Want IAREP is niet enkel een organisatie die zich louter richt naar economisch psychologen, maar ook sociaal en experimenteel psychologen, economisten en marketeers komen jaarlijks samen op een internationaal congres om kennis uit te wisselen. En ook om oude bekenden terug te zien of om nieuwe gezichten te verwelkomen in bruisende steden als Wenen, Praag, Parijs...

Zes jaar geleden leerde ik IAREP kennen en nu is het mijn taak om jullie IAREP te laten ontdekken. Zo omvat de "Journal of Economic Psychology" een scala aan onderwerpen die relevant zijn voor vele onderzoekers.
