Economic Psychology is an important component of research in Irish Universities with relevant projects ongoing in University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, National University of Ireland Maynooth (NUIM), University of Limerick and National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG). Scholars in Ireland are actively exploring the economics and psychology of suicide, contingent valuation methodology, identity and economics and several other relevant topics.

I am the country representative for IAREP in Ireland. I hold a PhD in Economics and am currently a faculty member jointly with the UCD School of Economics and UCD School of Public Health and Population Science. I also maintain an active research programme at the UCD Geary Institute including projects on the neural basis of time preferences, attitudes to taxation (recently published in the Journal of Economic Psychology), anchoring vignettes, affect and self-control.

I am very happy to talk to people who are interested in the work ongoing in Ireland and welcome suggestions for collaboration and information sharing. I am actively promoting IAREP and a number of members have recently joined from Ireland. If you are working in Ireland and interested in getting involved with the international IAREP network, please don't hesitate to get in contact with me. This is a very exciting area of inquiry and IAREP is a vibrant group who, among other things, publish a leading journal in this area (Journal of Economic Psychology), host a major international conference each year and also maintain a very useful email message list.
