My own relevant work has several aspects. I am very interested in economic socialization, and one emphasis, derived from my Piagetian background, has been on its cognitive aspect. More recently I have come to relate this work to social exchange theory and neuro-economics.

A second interest is naïve economics: how do people without economic training construe economic causation. This we studied in several perspectives: within in a cognitive framework, but we also strive to identify personality and cultural effects on economic views.

To further these interests, I have been very keen in building international teams who run parallel studies in their separate countries. Comparing the results serves then to sort out the universal from the cultural-bound.
